Holiday Rentals in Cadaval - A Guide to Cadaval

Holiday rentals in CadavalOne of the most northerly of Lisbon’s municipalities, Cadaval shares its southern border with Alenquer where the impressive Montejunto mountains stretch into both municipalities. 

Holiday rentals in Cadaval are by no means numerous but they can be found.  It is a rural area suited to lovers of peace and quiet although a day trip to the capital is perfectly possible from a Cadaval holiday rental. 

Apart from the Montejunto mountains, this municipality has little of interest to visitors but a holiday rental in Cadaval does make a good base from which to visit some of the surrounding attractions such as Obidos, the Berlengas nature Reserve and Santarem. 

The coast will be in the region of a 20 to 30 minute drive away.

Villas to rent in Cadaval and cottages to rent in Cadaval seem to be the only rental properties in this area, villas generally being houses with 3 or more bedrooms and cottages having 1 or 2. 

There is very little new build so nearly all the Cadaval holiday rentals are older traditional buildings with plenty of character.  Most will have a TV but probably not internet . Not all have pools so check the details, especially the size of the pool, to avoid disappointment. 

Many cottages to rent in Cadaval are in the Montejunto so don’t forget that it can be much cooler up in the hills and some form of heating may be required.  Traditional wood-burning stoves are popular.

Cadaval Useful Information

Cadaval is a fairly remote municipality even though it is only 45 minutes drive from Lisbon Airport.  The main A8 road runs north-south close to Cadaval city but most of the roads are quiet country lanes with little traffic, ideal for bicycle- or horse-riding.
There is little in the way of public transport so your holiday rental in Cadaval will really enable you to get away from it all for a week or two.
