Holiday Rentals in Lagos - A Guide to Lagos
This is another popular holiday area in the Algarve. Holiday rentals in Lagos can be found all along the coast, in the town itself and, to a lesser extent, in the countryside.
Lagos is perhaps, less blatantly “touristy” than some areas. Take a holiday rental in Lagos itself and you will discover a delightful town, still a working fishing port and market town. Around the new marina are well-designed apartments and the area has lots of shops and restaurants.
The beaches offer the choice of long sandy stretches or quiet secluded coves. A lot of Lagos holiday rentals are found in the resort of Luz, just to the west of Lagos town. Again, development has been tastefully done and the coastline has not been spoilt.

Types of Holiday Rentals in Lagos
Apartments to rent in Lagos form the bulk of the Lagos holiday rentals available. Even in the town, these are likely to be purpose-built and those around the marina are very sought-after. The marina area is almost like a small resort in itself.
Typically, apartments to rent in Lagos comprise 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a lounge area and small kitchen. Swimming pools are “de rigueur” but usually communal. Whilst researching I found a lovely modern, luxury apartment in Lagos with communal pool and sea views from the roof terrace. Imagine enjoying a glass of wine in the evening, watching the lights come on in the town as the light fades!
There are also luxury villas to rent in Lagos. These come with their own pools and gardens and usually have 3 or 4 bedrooms. A few are located inland where the population is very sparse but most are near to the resorts.
One of the big attractions of this area (apart from the beaches) is the traditional cuisine so its probably a good idea to have your Lagos holiday rental near a populated area where to can find plenty of restaurants.
Lagos Useful Information
The municipality of Lagos is in the western Algarve and Faro is the nearest airport. Road links are good and in the summer months there are any number of excursions and tours available.
If you like a bit of nightlife but don’t necessarily want to party until dawn (or listen to others doing it) a holiday rental in Lagos will give you a good balance.
