Cinfaes and neighbouring municipalities Resende and Lamego are just so delightful they are a "must see" if you are in this part of Portugal.

Santo Tirso is something of an undiscovered jewel. In the northern part of Porto District, bordering Viseu district, Santo Tirso holiday rentals benefit from pleasant countryside and proximity to Portugal's second city.

We didn't find many holiday rentals in Santo Tirso during our exploration of Porto district but we're sure they are out there somewhere.

Paredes Holiday Rentals

Since Paredes is the Portuguese word for "Walls" you would expect to find a fair few in this municipality with the same name. In fact there is not much left of the old city walls. There are lots of places in Portugal with "Paredes" in the name and it can be quite confusing, particularly if you are searching on the internet. Penafiel seems to be something of a forgotten municipality. To the east are the beautiful areas of Amarante, Marco de Canaveses and Baiao; to the west the more populated areas approaching the city of Porto.

Povoa de Varzim on the Costa Verde

Continuing our exploration of the Porto District, we came across the municpality of Lousada. Something of a "Mecca" for motor sports enthusiasts, this small but well populated locality in the Duoro valley is worth a second look.

Our research has not thrown up any Loures Holiday Rentals but we're sure they're out there somewhere. Although this municipality is becoming a northern subuerb of Lisbon, it does have some interesting architecture, museums and gardens.
