There are some apartments to rent in Silves municipality along the short stretch of coast. These are in purpose-built developments with shared pools and offer the typical Algarve beach style holiday – sandy beaches, bars and restaurants, discos and nightclubs, plenty of golf courses. Silves town is famous for its well preserved Moorish castle which survived the 1755 earthquake.
Further inland there are some truly stunning villas to rent in Silves. Mostly modern, they have been built in keeping with the traditional Portugese style and the effect is very pleasing. I have yet to find a villa to rent in Silves which did not have its own pool and garden. Add to this the lovely views that a good many enjoy and you have a truly delightful holiday rental.
There are also a few farmhouses to rent in Silves which are more traditional but still have all the modern conveniences. Also I have seen a few cottages to rent in Silves which, with either one or two bedrooms, are really the inland version of the beach apartment. Some have pools and some do not.

You will have no trouble getting to your Silves holiday rental. The main A22 road runs through the southern part of the municipality and the other roads are of a good standard. Lagoa is only just to the south where there are some very good shops.
